Is this too good to be true?
Friend is looking at 997 Turbos and came across this 965 for sale at a very low price. If you go to the inventory the 997 Turbo is priced similarly under market. The sales person is a bit dodgy (according to my friend) and the vin on the 997 Turbo came up with a Tip transmission. Anyone know this place or this car? This a scam?

If that car checks out, that's a screaming deal.

Not sure if this dealer is legit. My friend called about the 997 and got odd information and then no callback. If someone lived nearby that would help to take a look. I don't want to get scammed.

That would be helpful. The 997TT was a fake. Dealer pulled the ad after my friend said he was going to post a scam-alert. I can't imagine this being legit. I remember seeing this exact car earlier this year but can't place it.

Thanks maverick, hopefully your buddies know someone close but based on the run-around and then ignored calls/texts I suspect the 964/965 to be too good to be true as well.

If you look at their about page it shows a TX dealer who is also an Internet sales dealer...Lone Star Cars in Plano TX. If you go to google maps....NM location is not the place you would find a collector car or anything above a beater....see picture.
I would imagine the cars might be in Dallas, but that's a stretch.....I'd call this a hoax or a really poorly run company....
My boys contacts hadn't heard of it but all say the same...too cheap to be real...

Good investigating, maverick. Looks like the guys on the 997 Turbo forum came to the same conclusion. Someone recognized the picture backgrounds as similar to Thomas Classics dealer pictures.

Ad says 30k miles odo says 44k. Car looks a bit rough or even 44k and I smell something not sure but something isn't right.

Figured since he took the 997 down this would have been removed shortly after, but the scammer still has it up. Too bad more can't be done.
