This is a great idea and I like the concept...(been trying to figure out something similar) I would be down for ordering one if they could countersink the screws and include flat screws so it all sits flush with the cover.

i'm guessing the screws are to hold the rubber boot to the new metal plate. Can we not just glue the accordion to the plate?

I suspect the screws are to attach the plate to the fastening mechanism which holds the plate in place. I think the rubber boot is sandwiched between the plate and the locking mechanism. I'll ask the question to see if they can explain.

Just got this update from Sleepers:

Hi Lee,
Apologies for the late reply. There was an update we needed to do and test. We weren't 100% with the new prototype we made. We currently have a new prototype being cut at the laser shop. Hopefully we'll get it back this week.
Thank you for your patience.

I'll let everyone know what the changes are once I learn of them.

Sent another email to Len at sleepers for an update. I told him we have a bunch of Rennlisters waving piles of cash in the air.

It will materialize..........just doesn't seem to be happening as quickly as we all like. It sounds like Sleepers is trying to take some of our feedback and perfect the design a bit. I'd rather wait a little longer and get a top notch product.

I'm in if the boot on the final kit looks a bit tidier up top

If you use the function first **** and shaft I'm thinking it's going to be a tight fit.
If you use a thinner shaft it may be a little loose up top

I'll pick up the phone and call tomorrow. They must be a busy shop. I didn't expect this to drag on for weeks.......especially once I had a large enough group ready to order. My apologies for the wait guys.
