Well I sent her into my local and trusted Indy and had a few things done.

Complete flush of the transmission (tip)
Complete flush of the PS system and belt replacement. This proved to be the main source of my leak as one of the hoses was cracked so we replaced both.
Also found two external oil lines leaking, they were replaced as well as the o-rings.
Replaced dizzy belt - caps rotors and wires were good.
60,000 mile tune up
Pulled oil pressure sender as the needle was bouncing and the light would occasionally come on. Verified pressure was good with a mechanical gauge and replaced sending unit.
Removed rodent nest found on top of engine. Luckily no rodents or chewed wires.
Adjusted driver side window frame.

Drives like a new car now. Everything is just tight and right.

Then, during the course of all this work a fellow Rennlister saw one of my posts about how I really like the 10 spoke rims from the 2002 Carrera. He had a set and we made a deal.

So now I have a nicely refinished set of D90s for sale.

Love how solid these cars feel!

The new rims look great. Keep the D90s if you have space.

chuckling here,... cuz my thought was definitely sell the D90's. Never liked the look of them anyhoo (now phone dials!! THEY are cool)...

anyway it seems there is a good market for D90's right now, so sell them while they're hot.

I hear you Steve. I took mine off years ago, and never considered putting them back on... but I have to say, given the right stance, they are starting to look better and better to me.

Saw this 964 parked on the street recently. It was mostly stock, with almost 300,000 KM on the clock. Had to say it was kind of impressive seeing it so stock and used so much.

Just seems like the original wheels should be kept with the car... (if you have space).

now THAT I definitely agree with. And even though I don't care for the D90 look,... if they are original from the car, then that trumps everything, and should be kept.

I kinda wish I still had the 17" Cup1 rims that were original to my car too. The wide body offsets are very hard to find, and expensive,... and since I like my 18" Speedline RH's & will never run Cup1's,... it doesn't make sense to go buy a set. But I SURE DO WISH the guy I bought the car from, had kept them & given them to ME!!!
Oh well.

Great picture of the stock 964 too. Gwad I love these cars & this body style. Best ever in my opinion. When I look at them, it just brings forward so much emotion for me. ....
Then you open the door, get in & take a BIG whiff,... and it's even better....
Then you turn the key & hear the sound, and take a drive,... and then all is right in the world. Tune everything else out, and just absorb it all in.

I actually thought (think) the D90s look pretty good. Especially with the 5mm/21mm spacers I had behind them. However, I like these 10-spokes better. I doubt I'll keep the D90s as I already have a potential buyer and I have not even officially advertised them yet.

Plus, no way would my wife let me store wheels and tires.... and she lets me get away with a LOT of crap.

Little update. RL member saw my thread and hit me up to purchase the D90s so they are gone.

Yesterday I pulled the loose fitting skirt on the right side. Low and behold I found numerous missing fasteners and a rusted SAE nut and bolt holding part of it together.

Power washed everything under the skirt and the skirt itself. Ordered $40 in fasteners.

I need to make these details right. This car is just too nice to f it up like the dealer did.

Rich thank you for a smooth purchase on the wheels! I put them on a couple of nights ago and they look right on the Targa. I took the car out for it's first long drive this morning, what an incredible car.

I would love to see some pics of your latest project to get the skirt properly attached.

I forgot to post the before and after photos of the 10 spoke wheels I purchased. I doubt they have ever been cleaned after they left the factory.

Pretty sure it was JF Customs on ebay. $60+ but my shift gate was old and worn and a new one was $60+.

Mine has black stitching but you can get them in red or blue stitching.

I cut the **** part off and turned it inside out. Put the narrow part down on the shaft then used a zip tie to keep it tight on the shaft. Pulled the wide or bottom end down so that now the boot was right side out and the top was folded in and secured with the zip tie. I then pushed the metal trim ring into the grove of the center counsel.

It is all flexible enough to fiddle with and get it looking good.

Hope this helps.
