Question help: key head replacement

help! any tips on removing the key from the plastic key head?
I removed all the springs and parts from the key head, but the key is still stuck in the key head. I tired warming it up with a hair dryer and spraying it with silicon lubricant.

That little angled piece with the spring is all that holds it in. It fits pretty snug, grab the metal part with pliers and pull, it should come out.

^^This. It should just pull out now, unless someone has glued it in there...

I had to smash mine apart with a hammer. Sometimes its easier just to replace the whole key and have a new one cut. That way you get a fresh key, too. Always feels good

I broke the plastic apart into pieces with some pliers and then replaced the head with a new one from eBay. As a bonus, the new head has a much brighter LED bulb.
