Default Just finished my rebuild/reseal and thought I share a video :)

After three months of here and there work, my engine is back in the car and looking good...so far. I made time-lapse through out the months of rebuilding it just for entertainment kicks. Just want to share the awesome experience I got from this DIY process.

Nice video and congratulations on completing your project. It feels great when you first start up after a rebuild, doesn't it?

Thank you. Yes! The first start up was nerve wracking. After cranking the engine with the DME unplugged to get oil pressure, the engine fired up and it was a huge relief. Then comes the worrisome of leaks..... So far so good though. Finger cross. Still in break in period for a few weeks.

Nice work! I'll be embarking on this same project soon (not splitting the case though).
Won't be working quite as fast.....lol.

Wow! Congrats on the rebuild and that video is awesome ... I have to learn that time lapse stuff.. I'll be watching that video a few times for sure... Was the time lapse done with a DSLR camera or video camera? # of pics per hour? My video will have me staring off into space 50 minutes of every hour... Well done...

PS. If you live in Kirkland, you must work at Corporate Costco? I developed my companies cross dock flow through software solutions to get our Vitamin Supplements (Kirkland Vitamins) into Costco...

Thanks guys.
The time lapse is just from my iPhone nothing special. Just slap it on a small tripod and let it run while working. I ended up watching a lot of to review my work too. See if I had missed anything. At least catch anything that might be wrong.
I shop at Costco, but I don't work there. Heard their benefits are great.

Very impressive, nice work, inspiring stuff.

One thing though, your happiness at the first startup doesn't really show.

I especially liked the scene around 2:08.

Do you mind if I ask what you do for a living, or in other words, where did you get the skills to do this. Did you encounter any problems along the way?

Regards

David
