Radio Removal Tool
Would somebody please be kind enough to post a picture of the radio removal tool. It would also help if it was placed next to a scale (ruler) so I have some idea of the relative size.
I have successfully removed other car radios, but perhaps my fear of damaging my car is causing some restraint on the Porsche.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Geo

Geo... I simply cut a wire coat hanger into 2 8 inch pieces and fromed a u bend, then inserted the ends into the radio holes.
You will have to pull the radio once the wires are inserted.
Remember that after 13 years the radio will have a lot of resistance to coming out.

WallMart sells the tool for about a dollar or two. A lot of auto stereo shops will have them as well. I tried the bent wire trick for about 3 hours and couldn't get the radio out. After getting the tool, it to about 5 minutes. Like the previous poster stated, it's been in there a long time so it doesn't come out easilly. This may be why the wire trick didn't work for me.
Hope this helps.

The tools have a small notch/bead on the end which is designed to push the spring tab aside while actually grabbing the unit to remove it. Chances are, as stated, the unit will be stubborn and require a push from behind.
