All parts should be back from cleaning / refurb this week.
Hoping to get the car back in the next couple of weeks.
Went with 993tt studs.

Also got this for my Bday, should be good for 10-15hp:

Dr. Mitch you made the right decision for sure.

With the US$ exchange it will get increasing harder for us Canadian to get future air-cool Porsches.

Parts are back and all cleaned up and ready for reassembly.
Chip in windshield could not be repaired, so getting new front glass as well. Just as well as the glare at night and rain was brutal.

That case looks mint!
What process did you use for cleaning the case?

And, where are the con rods?

Most of the parts were vapour blasted.

Con rods? Figured we'd save some weight and leave them out!

Absolutely fix her. You will bond forever and maintain top value.

Kids?...either, a) spend some time with them and teach them how to fix a car together; or, b) tell them "get lost, daddy needs his space"!

Wife?...remind her everybody needs a diversion, but yours keeps you home in the garage with your pants on!

Dr. M.,

Was your case coated in something after cleaning? So aluminum looking...

Nice work!

No coating, all parts were vapour blasted. Guessing it took off the black finish of the timing chain covers? My mechanic has been keeping some stuff "secret" from me until "the big reveal" hopefully late rthis week

From what I have seen locally (So Calif) that would actually be a pretty good deal.
That's exactly what I did. If you plan on driving it like I do, take the 0 mile motor in a 120k mile chassis over even a clean well maintained "low" mile motor in the 60-80k range for the same price all day long. As long as the body is straight and true, the rest can be fixed or upgraded in due time.

Engine is in - they had it running yesterday, got it nice a warm and are draining and looking at oil. But, since I was having the windshield replaced, I'm taking care of the ever-growing rust spot in the drivers corner while the windshield is out - so that will take time to coordinate going in to shop - another couple of weeks before I get to drive it...
