Please educate me on how factory or service provider uses the valve on top of our gearboxes? What is it bleeding, air or fluid? Have fill plug, drain plug for flush, so, what's up with bleeder?
I always assumed its a vent to allow air to enter the transmission if/when you are draining or filling the gear oil. I've never had to touch the vent when I change my tranny fluid.

Agree. Put the transmission on its side and watch the oil flow - don't ask me how I know that
