Help with pricing 964
Was looking at a 90 964 C2 with 75K miles, 6 speed. Probably an 8 exterior, comparable interior, engine will need a reseal, or at least top end (which I can do myself). To me this is a solid 3 post reseal.
What's a reasonable market value assuming the reseal is done (~$10k street cost, planning for needing o-rings for the jugs)
Went to Hagerty's for a price estimate == which i've found to be notoriously high -- but it claims
$24.8K for a 3, and only $32.1K for a 2 (which it is not).
Something seems amiss -- where are folks getting better value estimates?
thanks,
Mike

The market has softened a little bit in the last 6 months. But even with that, it is a very desirable color combo C2 and manual with nice miles. I'd want to see the leakdown figures before I handed over cash but this looks every bit of a 33k dollar car to me.

This car car is worth $45k unless it needs everything. Or has been wrecked.
Ok cars are $40k good cars $50k and excellent cars are $100k.
Look at what happened over night to the early cars (67-73). They went from $25k to $80k-$120k in a couple of years.
964's are great cars. way more fun to drive. Billet proof and the last of the classic look 911.
Get one while you car. They will all be $80-$100k in a couple years.

I agree this car is $40k - $45k as-is assuming all it needs is a top end rebuild. Dump $15k into a quality engine rebuild and you will have $55k - $60k into a desirable C2 in an awesome color with a brand new engine!

You might want to try Bring-A-Trailer. BaT is selling a lot of Porsches these days.

I'll wire the money right now on that car. Grab it. These cars refurbished, tastefully modified or original are going up in value. I agree that the market has softened a bit in the last six months but 33k for any 964 c2 with no rust or accident damage and presents well is a great deal. One in that color combo is even better. I'm about to restore a rust free California silver 130k mile c2 into a sunroof delete, race prepped 3.8, RS interior, Brembo JRZ street / road capable beast. I will be upside down when I'm done but I believe the market will catch up and if it doesn't, so what, because I plan on keeping it. I've almost decided on Fashion Gray over Slate Gray, which I love.
