So any thoughts on the mechanical work done? Anything major that's missing that I should be looking for?

Hmm, guess I need to close this thread out. had a bit of an impulse buy on new years eve. now the proud owner of a 996 Turbo.
maybe the 964 will be the next one :-)

Haha congrats. Is this your first p car? If so, I think getting something fast is smart. It's a fun itch to scratch and 996 Turbos are really fast right out of the box and they can be made ridiculous relatively easily. You can learn to appreciate the subtleties of the analog air-cooled cars after you get your ya-yas out with a water cooled turbo car. At least that's how it worked for me. In the last year I've gone from wanting to do crazy go fast mods to my 997 to considering selling everything and building a Singer or similar hotrod 964 based car.
