Just to add to the color chart....I have a '90 C2 originally painted metallic silver (same as the color of the wheels) and wanted to change to a darker color without a full blown teardown respray. After looking at Dupont's color book showing every silver/grey offered by each manufacturer, I chose VW's Tungsten Silver Metallic. It is a subtle, darker, shade so that when the door is open, you are hard pressed to see the difference of sills.

Here's where I'm heading ... Fashion grey. Photo shop job to get a feel. Saw a 991 targa in pts fashion gray this weekend and it sealed the decision.

Default L14 Reseda/Mignonette Green

Not to confuse you but this old VW color looks good on a 964. Here it is on a RWB build. When I eventually repaint I may paint it this color.

Leno featured this car ... the first slate and classical/elegant but I like your choice too!
Red interior doesn't hurt!

The singer gunmetal is superb as well - those guys such a sublime touch

I had a 1974 Audi Fox that came in a Smoke Blue with a blue interior. There is something about a glossy flat grey that just looks good. Fun car in the 70's.

Here she sits waiting for the re-implant of the new 3.8, refreshed tranny, new LSD, LWFW, New JRZ Pros, new elephant sport bushings, new rennline engine mounts and transmission mount.

I have to say the H61 (991) Fashion gray looks awesome. Not for everyone to be sure but very cool in person, very rare and I love it. I'm having a company out of Poland make a custom factory modegrau h61 paint sticker for the driver's side inner frunk placement in the place where stock sticker goes.

I'll post more pics when this project is complete.

Loving the inspiration of this guys. I agonised over the colour change decision, and then agonised again over what colour to go with. Grey of some sort was very much on my list, it's such a cool colour. However, I ended up going in a completely different direction.

I'm committed now to the colour change as I currently have the engine out and have painted my engine bay Rubystone. (I do all my own work). The original colour of my car is/was Guards red.
Great to know there are fellow owners who are not worried about a colour change

Can't post an image as it keeps loading upside down??

Looking great. Wonder if a little Tuberculin insulin syringe needle poke would take out that air bubble?

Going to hit it with a heat gun ... I ordered 2 just in case. $20 each as I recall.

I just realized that I never put up a picture on this thread with the finished product. I couldn't be happier with my selection. 991 Paint to Sample Fashion Gray H61

Looks great! Especially like the middle picture - the amber/gold headlamps are a perfect accent for the fashion gray.
