Front struts weeping, how deep should I dive...?
#16
I put Bilsteins on my 964 when I owned it and noticed after 3 years that my car would make a loud 'clunk' when going over uneven pavement or driving into my garage which has a small lip going from gravel to concrete. I jacked up the car and noticed the rear driver strut was leaking oil. I called Bilstein and they charged me for a new strut and asked me to return the bad one and said they would credit me upon determining the strut had a leak. They did.
KW's are much more expensive than Bilstein so I would hope they would stand behind their product. I find it hard to believe that a leaking strut is not considered a failure. If these struts require rebuilding after 5 years I would consider a different brand. Unless of course you are putting mega miles on the car or are tracking the hell out of it.
