Default Brake pads & discs

Hi All,

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it via the search function. My "new to me" 964 will need new front pads and discs relatively soon and there are many choices out there. As much as I'd like to think I will be racing, it likely won't happen anytime soon. I might make it to an autocross event occasionally. I don't need drilled rotors. The prices vary so widely, it's surprising (looking on Pelican).
Anyway, for a spiritedly street driven 964, what are some decent pads & discs?

Thank you

I would stick with stock pads and disks. The 964's brakes are more than sufficient for street driving and the occasional auto-x.

Agree with Rob here. Give Sunset a call or check out their prices online - you might be surprised.

If you are after a little project then 993 calipers and discs are perhaps an option for you (front adaptors required).

Standard braking power on these cars is pretty awesome so I wouldnt rush to spend loads of $€£¥

Enjoy :-)

Thanks for the comments.
I'll probably stick with the stock discs. Is it worth paying up for fancier pads?

I couldn't get my textars to not squeal on factory rotors. Recently put oem from Porsche and stoptech rotors. They work great!

I have C-Brakes rotors on my '91 C2 cab and have been happy with them. See:

Factory rotors & pads run the quietest.

Reasons for that which include rotor finish, pad prep, caliper condition and cleanliness, plus whether you used the factory anti-vibration dampers or not.

I've a 1990 C2 carrera with little rear calipers, I cannot find any good rear pads, I was interested in Pagid blu but I think they do not produce for my caliper, what do you use?
