Dark secret (not for the purists)

I do wonder how long it takes you to do an insurance questionnaire:
Make?: Porsche
Model?: Um, 964. Ish
Year?: Good question. 2016?
Any modifications?: Right then. <Rolls up sleeves>. Starting at the front bumper...

I can't believe that started life as a Cab. Very impressive fabrication skills!
Also quite impressed with the results of your respray - and in one of the most difficult colors to shoot, no less.
Cheers to you for doing something completely original!

HOLY S$&T! That's amazing! With the garage & tools you had, or didn't have - unbelievable!
I especially love the 993 targa roof - so cool.
Great car.

Thanks for all the kind words. Glad I uploaded it now.
Thanks Paul... "insane" – guilty as charged. I can still remember taking you out for a run in it just after I'd bought it – didn't put you off buying one though!
Thank you. Sadly the 997 steering wheel isn't a straight swap. I removed the hub from an old 964 steering wheel, modified the back/bore of the 997 wheel and then bolted the hub onto the new steering wheel.
My car wasn't fitted with airbags so there's no airbag in the new wheel. To help avoid confusion for future owners of the car I removed the "Airbag" motif by filling and sanding.
Below are some images so you can see how it was done. The new steering wheel was originally beige (it was hard to find a black one that didn't have PDK buttons). I resprayed the plastic parts and re-dyed the leather.
Previously I adapted an earlier 997 wheel to fit (here's the link). But I thought the circular design of this newer version better matched the round instruments.

Just visiting some other forums and saw your post...you might be one of those gifted and creative people , not sure what you do but Singer and Outlaw folks have nothing on you.
As a huge fan of stock Porches , I am still very impressed with the build.
