Sorry to appear to be stealing this topic thread, but if you had an totally original 1990 C2 coupe with 23K miles...would you drive it or store it as an "investment"?

Drive it without hesitation. The 964 is hoping you'll make that decision as well. It's what it was born to do.

You can put 5k miles a year on it and in 5 years it's still a "low mileage" car!

My opinion, no. You also take the risk of getting into an accident. Maybe drive the car in the summertime, weekends only. You could buy another 964 with a ton of miles and drive it.

Remember when you were 6, and had the poster of the Porsche on the wall, and all you could think about is how one day you would work hard, save up, and buy yourself a 911 just so it could sit in a hermetically sealed box because it would increase in value?

No? Me neither.

You don't have to daily drive the thing, but it would be a real shame to deny yourself driving a car like this just because a few years down the line it will be worth a bit more. Chances are the value of these cars will go up anyway even if you drive it. Is that few extra K really worth it? There are easier ways to make money than with cars.
