There's a thread on this in the DIY section (you'll need to change the display to show all threads "from beginning"), which further links to this article on Pelican.

i have a '90, and jumpered the connectors per the thread. the plug is right above the oil filter, disconnect, jump, then tape over (I found a bottle cap that fit perfectly, then taped).
The dash light will come on when starting, then extinguish at 6 MPH.

Easy: Pull out the connector on the spoiler control unit.

Probably same location 993 and 964. The spoiler control unit is on passenger side under dash. Just pull the carpeting back, you'll see right under glove box area.

Half fixed..
So I pulled the unit from under the passenger seat and spoiler light went away after start up and no caution light at low speed...but...now the light comes on about 49 miles per hour along with caution light!!!
Also, the rear plug on my 964 seems to have a slightly different configuration of pins then what is shown in the photo.
Anyone have a good suggestion or know if I can still 'jump' the rear plug at the same points? Thanks! 89 spoiler plug
Plug jumper fix with different pin layout.

Can't tell from your pix what jumpers you are using.
As stated in the referenced thread, on the pre 91's, I left the controller plugged in and fully functional and only jumped #3 to #7 on the plug in the engine compartment.
As I stated in previous post, my dash light comes on at start-up, then goes off at 6 MPH (it does not come back on at 49 or any other speed)

The photo with the jumps is from Pelican I believe. I just took a screen shot. The other photo is my plug as it sits. The pin layout is different which is what is so confusing.
