Question Why 2 Different NGK Part #'s for Ignition Wires?

I went on NGK's website to look up the correct Part # for ignition wires for a 964...

http://www.partcat.com/ngk

... But if you put in a 1990 964, they tell you #54180, and then for a 1993 964, they show #54143...

... And they are significantly different in price, as well.

So what's the deal?

I have a '94 964 but I usually put '93 in as the Model Year when I do parts searches, so that there is no mix-up with a 993.

Not sure which wire set I should buy....

'89-'94 use the same part numbers; I do not use the NGK sets, however the one Beru set covers ALL N/A 964's.

I would choose the least expensive version and go for it.

How many wires should be in the set? Looks like the #54143 set only has 6 total wires in the set.

A full set of ignition wires includes 12 wires for the spare plugs plus 2 that run between the coils and the distributor caps for a total of 14.

Only 6 wires in the turbo set. It is not dual ignition.

Be careful if you go with the NGK, they dont have the seals, etc

Also Some of their Porsche replacement does not use the Beru Connectors so its a real pain to put the seals on when you cant remove the connectors!

Also do 964's and 993's use the same ignition wires?
