Default Cup mirror wiring confussion

Hi, calling on the help of Rennlist on behalf of a friend of mine had some work done on his car and to remove Cup mirrors they cut through the wires and now they don't know how to reconnect the wires because they wern't originally colour coded!
The car is 1990 C4 left hand drive.
Both left and right mirrors have the following wires coming out of them:

Brown
Brown
Brown-black
Black
Brown-white
White

The wiring harness on the right (passenger) door has:

Red-black
Blue-white
Blue
Red
Brown

And the wiring harness on the left (drivers) door has:

Red-black
Brown
White
Green-gray
Brown-black (not 100% sure about this one as the photo I'm using for reference isn't too clear)

So the question is, please could anybody tell me what colour wires on the mirrors corrispond to which wires on the harness?
Thanks in advance!

Funny. Just took my mirrors off and took photos of the wiring to put it back together.

Let me know if the photos aren't clear enough.

I looked at all the colors you mentioned and most of them are the same. You could use some deductive reasoning to match the remaining colors. Anything going to a brown on the mirror is a ground - so the order of these don't matter

I used the rectangular connectors that came in the 993 mirrors. 964 connectors are round but the end result is the same.

Thanks for the assistance guys!
As it happens, we have just discovered that the mirror wiring was hiding in the door and somebody had tried to connect the mirror to the window switch!
However, after having connected the mirrors properly, there is still no sign of life from the mirrors.... So I'm wondering if everything else on the door (window switches; window motor; central locking; etc) needs to be connected so that the mirrors will work.
Now, the next step is finding out which wires corispond to which pins on the window switch

Window switch issue now resolved.
However, even with everything on the door connected the mirrors are still not working.
Two quick questions:
I don't see an allocated fuse in the fuse box, is there one?
Is it possible the mirrors only work with the engine running? (i'd check on my 964 but I don't have it near me at the moment)

Mirrors will work with the key in the "on" position. Engine shouldn't need to be running, just like the windows.
