Taillight paint.

Thought I would post this as a few might want to try it. I painted my taillights with translucent red then clear. I did this about 3 years ago and it held up great only reason for doing it again was I had to buy a used passanger side due to a cracked corner. Easy to do. They could be buffed a little but not a must.

I used VHT night shades, and then clear coated it with UV protecting paint. Looks brand new and honestly can't even see the cracks.

What I like about the tint is you can make your lights as dark as you want.

Tell me more about your center panel! How was it done, and who did it?

Local vinyl guy did it for me. ($45) It's pretty easy to do. I like the look but did not want to paint the center section white. This way its easy to remove and put back to stock. I sometimes think about removing it and doing just plain white with no lettering.

So this is just vinyl over the center taillight/reflector?

What do you do for reverse lights?

I just live without. I don't daily drive it and I have never found it to be a problem.

I left a little square without paint for my reverse lights. You can see them on the car to the left.

Great idea. Needing to figure out what to do with a faded r/h light unit. Will look out for the laquers.

Faded/barley sugar cracked centre reflector now vinyl covered for the moment and will see how it goes. Need to keep both reversing and rear fogs exposed as these are mandatory MOT items in the UK. Just a bit annoying some of the porsche lettering is exposed too...
