A Question for Singer Experts
1 Attachment(s)
I have seen videos where Singer says that their cars are an amalgam of parts from different Porsches. Which Porsche did the door panel part circled in this picture come from?
I was under the impression that the ideas came from different years... Not the actual part. So a specific part like the door panel might be in the spirit of the older car.
Uhhh, that one circled in that pic came from the ugly one...along w the seats.
:) |
But from which year Porsche did that arm rest come?
No idea. They look to me to be something I know I leaned on when I was a kid. Maybe in my uncles 66? I wish I could remember...
Is it a Porsche part, as I stare at it I wonder if it could be Mercedes Benz?
I was "told" it's from a 356. But, I'm no 356 expert to verify or point you at a year. Hopefully someone will chime-in.
No, not OEM Poesche. Singer created the circled armrest.
Not certain, but I assume that's a custom part. Not from any previous generation. I think interior is exempt from their claim. The cars aren't completely a mix of other 911 parts of course, there's quite a bit of new.
in their videos they say they use OEM parts when they can and if it doesnt exist they have it custom made, such as the lightbulbs and wiring harness etc.
What is different about the wiring harness and light bulbs?
CANBus is widely used. Relabeled "Singer" light bulbs ;-)
From what I have been reading there is nothing special about the Singer harness other than new wires and new ends for their particular engine and ECU, stereo system, etc. As to bulbs, calling them Singer bulbs does not enhance them. In short, there appears to be nothing special.
And they use MoTec PDMs instead of fuses which is a good idea.
Robert- why after the America GS is there such fascination w singer? You looking to do more?
