Source for oil lines
I've got a few leaking oil lines. Can't find a source for new or re-manufactured lines. Any suggestions?

Elephant Racing might be able to square you away depending on the actual problem.
what line is leaking and where.. sure it's the line and not a fittings or hose? |
The two lines going up to cooler are leaking as well as line from engine up to filter. I'm only going by what tech has to say, which is, "The crimps are linking". When he says he can't source the line, I'm pretty sure he's looking for someone to replace the hose and recrimp to connectors as I found the lines at Sunset. For a price though. I had saved links to folks who this kind of work, but can't find them now.

I'm thinking of replacing the hose that goes from the oil filter housing to the thermostat. It's the one that goes up/over the passenger side wheel well. There's no local shop on the island that will do it. I called Elephant Racing today and the cost for replacing the hose and re-using the short lengths of hard pipe ends is $40 for the new crimp collars + $11/ft for the hose+ shipping. They'd cut the old crimp collars off and remove the ends and fit up new hose.
The hoses you're considering have longer hard pipe section - shipping those would entail more |
See my thread on the line from the oil tank to the oil filter housing....."Search" is your friend.
https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...sche-part.html As mentioned, the lines that go forward from the thermostat to the oil cooler have two long "hardline" sections, then the oil hoses running over the wheelwell to the cooler. |
"Aeroquip" you can make your own lines. If you have a store near you they can make or help.

I agree with you, seems he is in Kauai so there may be limiting factors...
