I just installed new tail lights. I noticed the new lights don't have full seals anymore and im fine with that since i noticed alot of grit and sand stuck inside of housing.

However, i noticed that porsche has a heat shield (96450551300 and 96450551400) that goes behind the light but my car never came with one. Are these necessary? Do you guys install them?

Those heat shields aren't directly behind the tail lights. They're behind the sheet metal. Look again, you probably have them.
