Default Move seat farther back- tall driver

My next car in the shop has an enormous driver. I have the seat re-bolted to the farthest back bolts I can, giving an added inch or so. I need to move it back even farther if possible.

Can any tall drivers that have adapted their seat even farther than the farthest possible stock setting chime in please?

How to?

Curious as well. My seat is back as far as it can and I wished it went just a tad more. Seems the 911 was made for people around 5'10 max

I'm 6' 4" 220lb and I fit perfectly, even with a helmet on, with my modified after market seat. The seat was lowered inside the channels.

Thing is with being tall is it could be evenly spread between torso and leg or more towards one than the other. Unless you have very long arms, moving the seat back further may not actually work with the correct steering wheel distance (wrist on the wheel when normally seated). The other thing I have done is fit a mod 07 wheel to give me more knee room.

We ar moving the wheel back as well. That's easy enough. And using stock seats. I need to move a stock seat back an inch or two from the rear most mount points. His knees are so high they don't even allow his arm to find the gear shift ****. I have to lower his knees.

Any solutions?

I'm 6'4", 230lbs, 34" inseam. On both of mine I swapped out the steering wheel and it made a HUGE difference for me.
One has a Porsche RS wheel.
The other has a Momo with offset eccentric.

The offset eccentric raises the steering wheel up and away from my knees.

Ty. We will likely be doing that as well. What I need to do first is get his knees lower. We have a smaller wheel. And it's out a bit. May need to come out more, after we move the seat farther back.

What about the internal stops on the seat. Can I modify those to allow for another couple inches?

Who's had seat rails apart before?

I'm 6'8 and over 250#. I can drive my 993S just fine. 36" inseam. All I did is what you've already done, move the seat back to the rearmost mounting position, stock seats and wheel. My knees are near the wheel, but I can shift and drive comfortably and have driven for 2+ hour trips. The problem is, if you move the seat back more, you get less and less headroom. If it is really such a problem, you need to get the seat lower. Either aftermarket seats, or maybe manual seats. I have even heard of people peeling the leather back and cutting down the foam on the seat cushion. As others have said, a smaller wheel would help clear up some knee space too. I would be quite leery of fiddling with the seat rails, safety is there for a reason, God forbid.

Or get a car that actually fits.

Not everyone can fit in these cars, irrespective of what adjustments are made.

You could lower the seat using re fabricated rails or bolt on to the floor, that should lower his knees. This thread might be of some use.

I had trouble with my knees hitting the wheel. Talked to shop about it and they mentioned that they had a really big fella whose knees interfered with shifting. This, I think, is your problem. They installed an offset shift lever arm. Not sure where or how they had it made, but if you're interested PM me and I'll send you shop's info and you can contact them.

Sadly true, it was a shock to finally sit in a 308 to realise this was never going to be car I could drive. 964s fit me fine, but it's not a big cabin so I can see the point where you just have to move on.....or move to an earlier car without the centre console.
