RS America prices and desirability
I couldn't find much on the current going rates of RSAs on the sales thread.
I'm considering buying an RSA but it's been tough finding out the going rate as there seems to be a decent amount of them but all so high priced that I see very little of them selling in the short time I've been looking (a month or so).
Do you guys know of any recent sales and details?
Is there a decent market for this car currently?

The 964 is arguably the hottest collector car in the world right now. Production was very low to begin with , a lot of them got shipped back to Europe or made into singers, and they were so unappreciated for a while, that many were not maintained.

If you can find an RSA with only the LSD option this would be the most desirable and not all that many were made without the sunroof.

To me an rsa is worth 5-10k more than a c2. Wing, no sunroof, no ac. Otherwise it's just a badged c2. It's not a real "RS"

When I was 964 shopping 4 years ago, you could get one under $40k. While not worth the extra money IMO, their value has increased even more than the regular Carreras.

The truth is the RSA is the closest to the older Tbar cars with the manual steering rack and spartan interior heavy fixed carrera tail and option list. Although it is a rarity I don't see them being worth the money some are commanding or asking still. Unless it is a low mileage original example with LSD option there is no reason why these should command more than a C2 for a heavily modified tracked example.

All the cars on RSamerica.net have sold many months ago, he depends on the owner notifying him to update the site. Unfortunately I think most of the loose cars have been snapped up by dealers looking to cash in. Beaters and track rashed cars are getting lipstick and priced around $100k, and those I think will sit at that price. Even ones sold at auction were modified. When you take everything off the car that makes it an RSA it's hard to have any justification at all for the $$$. The really clean cars are now collector cars and are being priced/treated as such.

This one is for sale close to me, without sunroof and with LSD. (All original, with 17,653 miles!)

About three years ago the ROW market started overpaying for these. We were seeing prices approaching $200k. For some reason they thought it was the same as a ROW RS. Eventually they caught on and prices dropped back down to reality. At the same time a nice C2 could be had for under $20k. When you think about it a $50k RSA might now bring $100k and a $20k C2 might bring $50k so there is a similar increase in value.

When Rennlist first started up until about 4 years ago 35-40 of the 964 threads were about RSA's and WTB RSA threads. Most of the people looking ended up converting them to track cars. I never understood the need to build a dedicated track car out of an RSA when it was considerably cheaper to buy and convert a C2.
So many owners swapped out their tails for the 3.8RS bi-wing and sold it off for under $1000. Those owners are now all kicking themselves as the cost of an RSA tail has gone up considerably.
Here is one a friend of mine is selling. It has extensive track miles and he is asking $90k as is. I believe he has a line on a low mileage one original one as well.

Dan Jacobs has a nice one for sale, but I'd buy the 964 racecar he is sellng for less money if I was in the market. I just don't see the value. Pay twice as much for a badge and a small weight savings. Get a C2 and personalize it if you want a lightweight.

Or just buy both. My C2 weighs in at 2765 with 1/2 tank of gas. Still more weight to come out.

The RSA is the most overrated 964 for the money! Buy a solid late model C2 Coupe.
