Default Bouncing oil temperature needle (gauge)

My needle for oil temperature is working fine but started bouncing a lot. I searched here and pelican forum, but could not find anything related to the oil temperature gauge, and most hits are from the older models.
What is wrong?

Sounds like a loose connection-in there infinite wisdom the gauges go full scale when disconnected.

+1 - Check for a loose connection or broken wire. If you think its the gauge itself, call Palo Alto speedo or Hollywood Speedo. Both rebuild these gauges.

Thanx guys, the engine was just dropped last month so I might check the connection there. Any help on where the cable attaches to the engine (or is it in the front oil cooler perhaps)?

It is back behind the engine intake on the right side. You can take off the air filter box to see it.

You still may have to take off the cone filter to see it. It is hard to get at without the right side intake tubes off, but to see if it is connected, you should be able to see with the filter off. May help to have a mirror to see more back there.

I had the bouncing needle on my oil pressure gauge. It was a bad sender. Not sure if there is a sender for the temp gauge.

The sensor is towards the front behind the passenger side intake manifold...best to take cone and manis off to get easy access...
