964 Value

964 Value
Had a 993 back in the day, sold it to fund a E-type that never eventuated, but ended up buying a 356 in boxes and doing the whole resto thing.
I've got the itch for another 911. Looking for a nice driver to use for the work commute, doesn't have to be a garage queen (356 serves that role very well). What do you guys think of the 1990 Baltic Blue C4 over at Kessler auto group. Is it okay to post the link?
Thanks,
Ethan

Depends on what you're looking for. Im choosing to keep my freshly restored 964 over my GT4. If that doesn't say something, then I don't know what will. It will be much harder to replace a 964 rather than a modern Porsche

I'm looking for a driver, having restored the 356 don't need a garage queen. That said, I can't resist the need to tinker with the car and get it dialed in just the way I'd like it. The wife thinks slate gray is a bit boring, but I prefer the word understated. I wouldn't mind a project, but want something solid. The 356 resto was the full deal, new floor, door bottoms, new nose etc. I'm in no rush to buy a car, not that there are that many out there.
Would like to find a slate gray C4, can be higher mileage. What's a decent budget for something like I'm describing? $40-50k?

In today's market I'd say anywhere from 40-55k depending on condition, year (92+ are worth more apparently) and private sale vs dealer. I'm helping a friend find a well sorted 964 as well. Not many to choose from. Haven't come across slate gray. Red and black seem the most common

I've got a midnight blue/grey C4 that I might consider selling. Its not advertised, just spent $7000 on it fixing the oil leaks and doing pretty much the list that was on the ppi from the car you mentioned. Brakes, tires, belts, service, hood shocks, few cosmetic things, love the car but now the AC fans don't work and I'm getting tired of spending $ on it.

I was the one who flew to Miami for that car. It broke my heart how misleading everything was. The dealer rushed me to get there within a week because he couldn't "hold" the car for that long. I get there, panels aren't even attached to the car...switches don't work...total nightmare.
The PPI only reaffirmed what I already saw on the outside and SOME.

aceking,
Yeah after the guys on here shot me a heads up on it, I did some searching and read your saga. Sounds like it's been a tough process for you in the search. I like the idea of leveraging the crew on here to look and do a pre-PPI, will prob follow that route.
cscrogham, I shot you a PM.
Thanks guys.
