I have a cup pipe, cat bypass, and a drilled airbox. It sounds killer. I just want one for the coupe. Installed a factory cay bypass last night along with a cup pipe, and it is much quieter then the my targa with a Fabspeed bypass. I like it louder. As far as a drilled box sucking in hotter air, I have never noticed a difference. My temp gauge always shows the car running cool. Even in the hottest days It never goes past 9:00 and fans have never kicked on and I have tested them to know they work. I think we have all felt in hot traffic that the car has a little less zip, but prob not due to a drilled box.

No emissions in MA now after 95'.
I would try it in NJ and if you fail, big deal go home and swap it for thrills cat and bring it back. Only takes 30 min to swap them out.

It was at a private garage, but no funny business, it actually passed. I don't remember the readings. Like Greg said, try it out, if you fail, throw the cat back in and go again.
