Default sunroof transmission bracket snapped- is this common?

So I figured out how to take the roof apart. I have found that the cable has pulled out of the bracket that attaches to the sunroof. Looks like this is sold as a whole unit on pelican. Is this repairable? Or will any repair immediately give out. Pelican says the replacement part is $180. So not the end of the world, but would be nice to spend the $$ elsewhere...

well crap.

I fixed the cable. I noticed that the sunroof transmission had hairline cracks in it and the screws that held it in were boogered up pretty good. I went to put it back in, and in my effort to tighten it, one of the screws snapped and the tension already on the other one snapped the transmission. edge off. Its a $400 part. Anyone build a racecar recently and want to sell their used sunroof transmission?

Heck, I can almost buy a carbon roof to totally remove the sunroof for less. :P
