Another Quest for Sound Quality

I recently purchased a 964 and am daily driving it. I love it to bits! :burnout: The one thing is the front speakers are also bits and snap, crackle, and pop more than Rice Krispies cereal.
Anybody know of any great replacements that one can easily DIY? I'd especially love if they could just be plug and play and don't need too much fettling to fit.
Thanks

Recently installed a Pioneer component system and used only the woofers since the tweeters seem to be OK.
It was Pioneer TS-D1330C 5-1/4 system.
Works with stock mounting holes and grill.
Way better then the old Infinity's that came with the car.

You could do better than the Pioneer's though. You generally get what you pay for with car hi-fi - unlike most 'upgrades'. If you can find a Focal that works then go for it - or anything else in that quality range.

Some good info here:

You want to mount the front speakers directly to the door metal for the best sound.

What speakers do you guys have? I am looking for a good set of 2 that are less than $100. Thanks

I've always been a Pioneer fan and went Pioneer all around. I think they make great products.

These are the fronts I got TS-A1605C:

You can have the Kickers that were in my car if you want. Just pay the shipping.

Make sure you appropriately match the speakers RMS wattage with head unit/amp RMS wattage. If you use a speaker that is rated with a high RMS wattage on just a head unit, you risk the chance of the head unit not putting out enough power and you'll get clipping and distortion and higher volumes.
