It may be a lot of time and effort, but those good shocks come in millions of sizes and pressures...id bet you could find some thy would work for the right length and weight of this deck lid!

May sounds strange, but some worn out ones may work perfect with a ducktail.

That is a factory part, and not expensive!
about 30 dollars with the pivot and a clip that holds it out of the way when closed. (you can just see on the pic about half way down)

Yeah, but the Rothsport prop is for the frunk, I need something for the lid.

After reading this discussion. I reinstalled one of the weaker/older shocks that I had and rearranged my shims. Now the trunk sits pretty flush and seems to operate pretty well.

What's the easiest way to center the lid.

I ended up using on shock and it works good. Are there tricks to getting this thing centered? It's off about 5mm to the left. Kinda annoying actually. Thought about drilling the bracket holes larger to give me more adjustment, but don't really want to go that far.

Shims! Make a bunch of thin (1/32) shims with holes drilled for the decklid and start adding them to one side or another. Rob & I spent an hour or so one day getting mine aligned just right.

I had to run a shock in the right and make a custom shim for the right. Still have to move the tail about 3mm right:

Yes, I also have only the right shock installed. We ended up with shims on both sides.
