Fly,

I am asking in my own thread about protruding lower bearing on rear? Oem BOGE were flush, how does one handle? Gonna be gaps?

interesting. The konis are flush. My RSR were monoball. so there were misalignment spacer between the shock and trailing arm. I don't think these will post problem.

The rubber bushing on bilstein HD will flex, as well as your top rubber mount.

What is the problem. The Bilsteins are a direct fitment. I am not sure what gaps you are referring to.
bilstein HD vs monoball.

The HD's are a good deal.

I don't know a mono-ball from a botchiball . Perhaps a pic of two struts sold under exactly the same p/n will help describe my issue;

Bottom mount protrusion (bottom strut) is what I was sent, no good .... Need flush mount (top strut in pic) .

Shouldn't make a difference. It looks as though Bilstein changed the design a little. I would need to measure but it looks as though the lower one has a larger dia metal sleeve which would reduce the amount of the rubber between the metal shock support and the sleeve. They reduced the width of the ring welded to the bottom of the shock more than likely to keep the overall feel the same since there would be considerably less flex if they kept it the same and added the larger Dia sleeve.

Unless it is a visual problem for you either shock should do the same thing.

Pls see my concerns in my C4 strut thread. I want to solve my issues outside Mr. FlyT's sale thread. Sorry for the Hijack.

Update:

I am installing exactly what is for sale here. Bilstein confirmed to Tirerack that all is good on rear installation questions I had. Can use existing OEM washer or I could replace with smaller diameter washer that covers steel bushing.

This is a good price for the set, I paid closer to 1k.. Cheers!

At first glance I wanted these, but then realized they were for newer 964 not my old 90 styles rear dampers.
Do these come with springs by chance? If not, then you overpaid at Tirerack.

Hello Flyin! Been shopping for these for several months. Tire Rack seems to be the cheapest game in town. I'm interested in your B6s. Will PM you momentarily.
