I went with the lightweight plush, it's a nice kit for the price . I ended doing a hybrid install, left the rear and side factory panels,

Oh, I'm at that point too dude. Already removed all the back behind the speaker panel.

Wanna know a tip? Plastic razors and unscented mineral spirits work really really good. The plastic razors work way better than a plastic scraper, they actually get under all the sticky glue residue.

Put them in a razor blade scraper and it's even easier.

Just get a big bag of them, you'll go through a lot.

My advice for removing the old glue, pay someone else to do it

Barring that have a good respirator that is rated for chemicals, You will end up using Goof Off or some similar chemical to remove the glue.

Also be careful of the electric harness, the chemical glue remover will also melt the adhesive in the wire wrap.

White Rose Tools eBay shop George.

Item Number ~ LP2010
LUPA 100 Piece Composite Razor Blades x 1 3.79 GBP 3.79 GBP
Item Number ~ LP2011
LUPA 5 Piece Composite Razor Blade Holders x 1 3.47 GBP 3.47 GBP
Item Number ~ 617623
Silverline 3pc Mini Wire Brush Set x 1 3.33 GBP 3.33 GBP
Item Number ~ 993067
Silverline 6pc Wire Wheel & Cup Brush Set x 1 6.98 GBP 6.98 GBP

I'm not doing an OCD job; as the carpet will be going back in but as you can see from the pic there is plenty of residue and I'd like to clean it up. I also have some rust from a leaky rear window to clean and treat, hence the wire brushes.

If I was doing a proper job I would contract one of these "cryogenic" dry ice cleaning companies to clean it up. Non-invasive and highly effective.

These guys come recommended in the UK - http://www.arcticfox.co.uk/applications/automotive/
