So checking back in with the Wevo black folks. Now that it's been some time, any updates / long-term impressions? I went with 993 C4 mounts about a year ago but just went next step with MCS coilovers, RSR tie rods, and Rennline HD ball joints so thinking upgrading the motor mounts to either RS or Wevo black may be the way to go.

The Wevo blacks have softened up over time and I find that the noise entering the cabin is insignificant. Some vibration still passes from the engine to the chassis and you do feel what the engine is doing (changes in RPM) especially at initial startup but otherwise on the road it’s really not that intrusive. With the softening I do find the engine doesn’t stabilize as quickly but it’s not enough to destabilize the rear end. If I had to make the decision I would still choose to install them.

Wevo black are the way to go.

As to softening up over time- they don't.

Soooo- check to make sure you aren't under/over torqued, and make sure you didn't melt the poly bushings. You need to run the plastic caps in the rear engine tin, or hot air from the cat gets sucked up in there and will melt the driver side bushing. This goes for oem as well.

That said. New pillows are 17 dollars, and takes a few mins to replace..

I’ll have them checked on my next oil change. It’s also possible that I have just acclimated to them and what was once pronounced is “normal”

Wow, I had never considered the impact of heat and the benefit of running those caps.

I have had my blues on for less than 10k hard miles, and I run the caps on the tin, and my pillows are still doing well, however a local owner I chat with regularly said he's already gone through two sets of black pillows. I wonder if it's the caps.

part # for the engine tin plugs for the penetrations for the engine mount bolts.

Lots of good stuff going on the 964. Can't wait to hear your initial impressions.

Thanks for that part number. I just checked and unfortunately both of mine are missing so these will go on the list ASAP.

How would one check if the Wevo’s have failed? The seem to be fully in tact and the nuts/bolts are secure.

Ref early comment on this thread sidetracking to front drop-links…

FYI: Not true now….This is an older thread, but Elephant Racing and other now make upgraded drop-links for 993 C4…

Just sold a car that I fitted them on.
