Heating Problem. Help!!!!!!!
I just finished tackling with the idling problem. My baby is happily back on the road. I can't tell you how much I missed drive her on the twisty back road near my house.
I still have to deal with some problems minor problems.
The heater is blowing hot air out to the wheel wells. I read about the flaps under the car might be stuck.
Can anyone tell me how to get them open?
I know the blower is working because with the ignition on and the temp **** turn to red, the motor is spinning like it should. The hot air just being dumped into the wheel wells and not getting to the vents.

Inside the flapper boxes there are no electronics, its just this flappy valve which moves back and forth. I would check your hoses as well however. Its an easy check. The flapper box is just held on by two 10mm nuts. Are you not getting any heat completely? Or are you getting heat but also feel it dumping a little, which I feel is fine. But if you are not getting heat it could be worth the hour to pull them and see if they are seized from dirt.

I got a chance to check the heat flapper box today. I cleaned it with some caburator cleaner and spray it with WD40. I'm sure that it is swinging freely, but there's no heat coming into the cabin. The fan in the engine bay works. I turned the ignition on, turned the temp dial to red, and I could feel the blower running.
Some have suggested to take a look at the temp mixer servo. How do I get it out? Do I have to take out the gas tank?

No you do not need to remove the gas tank.
Once you remove the servo you can carefully separate the casing to see if the tracks in the printed circuit are clean. Also, clean the fingers that run on the tracks. If you see any burn type staining, it's likely the servo is shot.
Lots of great info on here regarding servos, and of course Tore.

I will try to see if I could the servos off. Looks like there is no room to stick my hands in. I will give an update once I get them out.
Does anyone know any trick to get them off?
Thank you for all you suggestions.

Have someone stand and watch the servos for movement while a person in the car moves the temp ****. dont take them out unless they dont move.

I can see how much pain it would be if a screw drops in there. I'm thinking about removing the black panel in front of the "suitcase" to make my life a little easier, but that gas tank has to be right there!!!
