So with all this info I believe we can conclude that at least the US cars start with vin xxx61 so the number of US 964's C2/C4 coupes is only 4245 in total. Less if we take the time to figure out the double counted M718 cars. So maybe 4100 or so.
Any guesses how many still on the road? I would venture to guess at least half have been cut up, extensively modified or totalled. So if there are a total of 2000 +/- I would say that is a lot and these are spread out over Canada US and probably Mexico at a min. Makes you think where this is all leading. At a minimum we can conclude that the number of C2's remaining in stockish form are not that far off the number of RSA's.
At a minimum those lucky to own any 964 are a minority.
Do you know if Peter Morgan deliniates if this is for US only or are the ROW cars also included?

This might be true or it might be a marketing ploy, but Porsche claim that "over 70%" of all the Porsches ever built are still on the road today.

Considering they are including all the late models in that statement it's not really saying much

Three Wheelin'
This might be true but I bet most of that 70% are Porsches built in the last 20 years.
