Default AC Compressor Mount Broken

While changing the spark plug wires I found this bracket that mounts to the AC compressor broken. Is this a common flaw for these cars? I've found a few on ebay and according to PET the 964 part looks to be superseded by a 993 number. Maybe they beefed it up? Anyone local in OC CA happen to have an extra one laying around?

Interesting. I really don't see a reason for that bracket to break. It's not even a bracket, it's a spacer and the bolts are pass-through only. Perhaps at some point corrosion seized the fasteners to the piece. What does the big bracket underneath it look like?

Wait, looking at it again, it would seem that someone tried to tighten the belt tensioning bolt without loosening the actual bolts on the big bracket. At least the piece that broke is easily replaced rather than the big bracket breaking.

Definitely an odd part to break. Vandit's hypothesis sounds like a good one. There are folks parting 964's in the pelican classifieds. Or the usual used parts outlets, dcautomotive is my pick.

Yeah I found it online. Would just love to drive after spending two days adjusting the valves, new plugs, wires etc

You don't need the a/c to drive. I removed mine.
