Need wide body suggestions.
I would like to do the wide body conversion. I really like the bolt on look, love the rbw look. I think this pic might be rbw.
Here is the thing.... I don't see myself spending $20k just for the body + labor.
So, the question is how can this look be accomplished without spending $50k and still do steel flares instead of flimsy fiberglass?
I'd love some help/advice please. Thank you in advance.

That's the thing... I do not want to weld the fenders. I like the bolted rbw look. I can't believe they are the only company that makes it. There must be someone else.

Would defiantly suffer on track. Additional unsprung weight, more drag, more rolling resistance, nasty scrub radius, etc. I am sure done right wider cars can be faster, but don't be fooled into thinking all you need is flares and wider wheels tires.

I realize that. My future plan for this car is to put a gt3 engine in it. As I will track it the suspension will have to be right. I do not want a big wide body and a fart can and be beaten by civic. Which is also why I do not want to spend huge amounts on the body work.
Big flares and wider tires will be the icing on the cake.

Gt3 engine will be ridiculously costly to do. How do you plan to cool it?
Like so many fads in the past I have no doubt the RWB might be appealing to some now but will be yesterdays news soon enough. I have been helping do a number of these kits on BMW's and they all look so cheap. A quality wide body build will always hold its value better.
In any case a widebody with narrow body trailing arms is by far the best handling 964 you will dive. It has all the benefits of both just don't go too low like these cars otherwise it will not handle to its maximum potential.
If your going for the add on look the 934 was the best example of this and kits are still available AFAIK from companies like AIR or Getty. Something like this will hold its value and offer a larger market to sell in the future and eventually everyone sells.

BTW you can do glass fenders cheap. I have a nice set of Getty glass fenders I would be happy to unload for $250 plus shipping.

Is there anything sexier than a widebody 964? What is the consensus for valuation decrease by ruining the originality of the car? 10% - 20%?
It shouldn't matter for someone who thinks they will keep the car for eternity, but if you are taking a $10k hit on value and paying $20k for a conversion it is a $30k event........
