Default Crank pulley bold problem. Help

I'm at a point where I need to unbolt the crank pulley to get to the timing cover gaskets. From what I've been reading, I need that special tool from Porsche to keep the pulley from spinning when trying to undo the bolt. I can't seem to find the tool. I'm new at this. In fact this the first that I get this far in the engine bay.

Does anyone have a way to do this? One that does not involve that tool specific tool.
I m thinking about removing some of the ten small hex bolts, replace them with longer studs so that I can use a crowbar to jam it. Do do think this would work? HELP!!!!

I'm at the same point and am borrowing this self made tool. Apparently it works, albeit I've been told the other method of holding the flywheel with a lock works as well. I'm also borrowing the Porsche tool that pops the pulley when the bolt is off

Can an impact wrench not be used to buzz the main pulley bolt out?

Where are you located? Maybe there is a fellow Rennlister nearby that has the tool. I rebuilt my engine a couple years ago and tried to remove the pulley without the proper tools and its very challenging but very easy with the proper tools. You will need both the wrench and the pulley removal tool.

I m in San Diego, Ca. Any Rennlister in the area who has the proper tools to take out the crank pulley? I should post this on a new thread. Thanks.
Rent? Or a cup of Starbucks?

John McM, I like the homemade tool you got there. If I can't find any one with the special tool, I might have to make one like that.

You can use a impact gun to give it a quick zap to remove the bolt. Just don't use the impact gun to tighten the crank pulley bolt. You can even remove the pulley by using a deep socket or extension in lieu of the special crank removal extraction bolt.
