964 Glovebox Door Won't Open
The lock / latch seems to have gone out of position. It unlocks and turns but not quite enough to allow the door to open. I've jiggled it without avail and am reluctant to force it to turn a bit more on it's own or with the key in. Is there a trick anyone knows, an alternate way to release the door or a way in from the back?

What has happened is this: there is a big nut on the backside that holds the lock mechanism in place that has come loose. When this happens, the whole unit tries to turn instead of actuating the "dead bolt," if that makes sense to you. It has happened to me and I finally got the the thing unlocked but there was no trick, just a lot of fiddling. Maybe try making sure the keyhole is facing straight up and down and applying pressure or pulling back on the **** while simultaneously turning it.
