Bad experience for me!
I did it carefully but the light broke when I tried to remove the lens

Will order a new one.

Did you bake it first to help loosen the adhesive?

I assumed that the oven time did nothing to the adhesive as I expected it to just fall apart. Maybe it did actually weaken the adhesive so mine came away cleanly?

I have not done this before, but from looking around my nearby shop who does this daily, you need to heat before hand to loosen the adhesive. In some cases the lens will really just pop off, but in others they have to use tools to gently pry it away. Some shady DIY people use butter knives to help separate the two.

In hindsight, if you expected to just pry off the lens so easily without baking or any other preparatory method, then the build quality of these cars would suck if the lens just popped off. The adhesive may be old, but its on there.

Tread carefully those who attempt this in the future.

Update - I glued the lens last night with http://www.selleys.co.nz/adhesives/h...plastics-glue/

It is nasty stuff to work with, irritating my eyes. Basically it's Super Glue. However it's a reassuringly strong bond. I had about 30 seconds to align the plastic parts, which isn't that difficult as the old glue line was very obvious and this is an OE part so the fit was great.

Tonight I will seal the join with a silicon and then 'bake' the other lens.

I removed everything from the indicator, then put the body in the oven for 20 minutes at 100C.

I then used a screwdriver to pry the old lens off.

Following that I glued the new lens on. Placing is easy, just use the old glue trail as a guide. The glue I used set in about 30 seconds but I still left it clamped for 30 minutes to be sure.

Lastly I used a neutral cure silicon to fully seal the join. I'll post the pic with them in the car tomorrow.

Thanks, no I didn't do the center as I only discovered this solution after buying a new one. That said, the lens is harder to find for the center and it would need a big oven

I've got this far

Need to tidy the unit (it didn't come off cleanly), and then stick them on at the weekend.

Well, that's the theory...

Good luck! If you need any tips, just ask.
