Meanwhile...up front, I continued re-assembly. I'll space you the details, cuz honeslty they would even bore me at this point...so if you have questions, ask. And I'll jump back in and add details...
Here are a few pics.
And with a twist wheel on the front. The new studs are 55mm. There is, in this picture, 10mm of thread showing on the stud. So with the 5mm spacer he will likely run, they will protrude slightly less. But that said, they look fantastic.
I finished up the other side and called it a day. The only things left to do up front is double check torques, torque the axle bolts which I didn't have time for today, and begin to set up the godspeeds a bit so the car is ok when we set it down off the stands.
On to the rear....as soon as the mpl slave gets here.

And we just got an update the those slave cylinders arrived in the US yesterday.
I'm really beginning to believe I'll drive this car before my birthday at the end of the month.

You will be driving this car before your birthday.
Can't promise, because the the Lobster will bite me again like it did today -but we are very very close unless we open up more scope creep.
Im looking forward to driving it too.

A little more detail on the heater hoses:
We replaced the heater hoses (Porsche Part 96457278500) with 3" SCEET Tubing from Aircraft Spruce: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/sceet.php
This tubing is identical in diameter to the Porsche part, and is made to higher specifications. It's also 1/10th the price.
The tubing had to be cut to size - while Porsche lists 720mm as the length for both hoses, I cut the SCEET tubing to match the hoses that came off the car, and found that, for this particular application, the passenger side tube was ~1 cm shorter. This made for a interesting few minutes when I tried to install the shorter tube on the driver side!
Before reinstalling the heat control box, I replaced the tired 75x5.3mm rubber o-ring (Porsche Part 99970720740) with a new one.
Then I installed the new hoses using brand new stainless steel hose clamps. These should last another 25 years!

No. We ordered from the U.S. Distributor. That's Go Tuning in CA. 714-987-1114. Ask for Tommy and tell him you know us from Rennlist.
Ours were drop-shipped from Japan. If they get more popular maybe he'll stock the 964 kits in the U.S.

Does this just give a lighter clutch pedal? Does it change the motion ratio or any other dynamics of the clutch action?

I think you are talking about the mpl slave and not the collars right? The mpl should be identical to the stock slave, with the exception that it's easier to depress the clutch and therefore slightly easier to drive.
Let me know when my pics don't load. I usually update from my phone and sometimes, like in the case of the badges above, the pics don't load or come through.

Sorry, that ordering info was in response to the rigid collar question. I'll let Goughary respond to the slave cylinder question.

No worries, keep the questions coming. This thread is too often a lonely rant. Lol...
I've never used an mpl slave, so it'll be interesting. We will report more once the car is on the ground. I broke the slave and slave line loose yesterday so we would be ready to go once the slave arrives...

Yep. Did a short run to cover this project with a few extra for the future.
The whole purpose of what we are doing is to get out of the Porsche shop, where costs are way too high, and do the work here. We will always need specialist expertise and there will always be something left to an expert. Ie, if my heads need to be done again, they will go to Steve W, again. But, 90% of what could possibly need to be done on these cars can be done easily with two hands, a little time, and basic tools.
Dbfd is drive, break, fix, drive. That's what it's all about. There's fun in the drive, but that's only half of it...between the drives, it's going to break and need to be fixed. Old cars, new fun.
Thanks for the tips on the break caliper rebuild btw... Was easy and went well. I'm working on mikes rear calipers now and dealing again with stuck spring plate bolts. Hate this part. Welding Allen wrenches onto the heads to break the damn things loose. Insane.
