Default 964's steepest valuation spike in years

As if any of us didn't know how hot our 964s were already, just noticed on Hagerty's valuation site a whopping 20% increase in the last 4 mos. It's very similar to the spike that the 3.2s had a couple of years ago.

prices are through the roof.
Collectors are paying it for ultra mile examples.

All the others trickle down to still be considered expensive for an old used car that requires TLC.

But when you fix em right and run them on your favorite road the smile factor is indeed worth it.'

But damn these thing are getting expensive to buy not to mention restore....

It's time to consider getting "assigned value" insurance coverage.

Sell it, and then buy it back, and show the receipt!!

Just finalized my agreed value policy with State Farm. Agent even took party pics in the parking lot. Feels good!

I told them I might call back in a few months to increase it again...

Wow those are impressive numbers. I just looked at my 89 c4 and they have it at 60k for a mint condition.

Yeah, I'm not so sure that is representative of the current market.

Personally I don't like to see the values of our cars go up like this...in fact I'd rather see the values drop to be honest. It'd make me feel more comfortable as I start modding and driving her like she should be driven. But, even with the values where they are, they are still lower than a new loaded Toyota Tundra, so we've got that going for us, which is nice....(albeit, turbo owners don't count)

I just came across an article in our local paper that confirmed the jump in prices for Porsches but also stated that it was for all collectible cars from the 80's and 90's that had a large appreciation in price.

"The reign of blue-chip Ferraris on the auction block could be over — or will decline, at least, in the next few years.
That’s according to research by Hagerty Insurance in Traverse City, Mich.
The insurer and its classic car database have found that so-called modern classic cars from the 1980s and ’90s are becoming increasingly popular, based on 2015 auctions, especially the prestigious and important Gooding & Co., R.M. Sotheby’s, and Bonhams auctions surrounding Monterey Car Week.
In fact, cars from the 1980s are the only segment with a year-over-year increase in average auction values.
And they were the group with the largest increase in volume offered at auction, more than double what was sold in Monterey last year.
Cars from the 1990s had the biggest increase in median sale prices in general, up 188 per cent over 2014.
“There’s no doubt about it — ’80s cars are the most active segment right now, followed by those from the 1990s,” says McKeel Hagerty, chief executive officer of Hagerty. “If you look at the auction prices and our own data, the popularity is undeniable. This is the next generation.”
Porsche, in particular, has seen the biggest growth in popularity. Auction houses offered 27 more year in Monterey than last year, especially 930s and 911 SCs. (The 930 is a flatsix engine that was the top of the 911 range during the late ’70s and ’80s, and this line includes some of the first turbos Porsche made.) Searches for Porsche make up 23.5 per cent of all queries by collectors ages 30 to 50. Ford is the second-most-searched for brand name, with 18 per cent of searches asking for that brand."

Yeah, I just had my car appraised last week and it was almost twice what I paid 2 years ago!
Am calling insurance co now to increase the coverage. I knew it had gone up, but wow I had no idea...

Last year I increased the agreed value with State Farm at $40k and it appears I need to increase it again. What do you think I should increase it to this time?

91 C2/GP white/Black/5spd/55k miles/all original paint.
