I think I recall this car on CL last year, out of the atlanta area somewhere right? Driver's fender damage. Sounds like I should have gone and looked at her!

Thats the one.. I bought it the day after it was posted.

It would not have been a good buy for someone that wasn't resourceful, as it was pretty rough around the edges, but it sure is sweet now :-)

Here it is the day I brought it home.

Other than my own Porsches, I only develop and build engines..

BUT I can hook you up with who I use for my own fleet :-)

Welcome to the 964 world Jake. It looks good. I remember your name from the VW type2.com days.

That was a long time ago... I sold my last Type 2 (68 Double Cab with my 2.7 914 based engine, with EFI and a 915 trans) a few years ago. Other than a couple of VWs, like my wife's 79 Vert (thats as much Porsche as VW) I sold off my collection to invest in more Porsches. I did just import a 76 Bundeswehr Kubelwagen, because I love military vehicles, too.

The 964 was the last series of 911 that caught my attention. I've had one of all the series in the collection for a while now.

Of all my cars I decided to take the 964 further, engine wise, than the rest. After I finish the 4.1 for the 964, I plan to build my 3.7 for my 88' Carrera and build the gearbox, since the car has 300K on the original drive train!

Thanks... Been collecting them all my life, and I started very young. I have a few more that are in work, or waiting to be restored. I like "junk" as my wife calls it. The building you see there isn't my house, its my man cave!

That's sweet man. I'm 36 and just got my first Porsche. Before that it was motorcycles and bikes. I just love working on stuff and tinkering. I'll spend hours in my garage. A lot of times I prefer that to going out.

Pretty much all I do, and all I have ever done is wrench... I don't care about many other things outside of my junk collection, and my family!

Got my first Porsche at 12, it was a 914/4 and I have been at it every since then! The most rare thing in my collection is the tractor in the last pic, its a 1967 Bungartz fitted with a factory 1200cc VW engine. Less than a dozen like it are known to exist, and I use it around the shop almost everyday.

Nice.

What's that dark grey Porsche I see in the top right in your garage?

Looks pretty sweet from behind.
