At 1kg The lifePo is really good, use it for 6 months with no issue , using the car every 3 week for week ends , it fire as well as any batteries , most important is CA, if the car is used time to time, a cut off switch is a must , clock and alarm will draw down any battery after a few weeks .

in my late 4th year in the cup car with vph750 ... if it makes 7 i recon its saved me money, 10 and its paying me
but that's a while to go The auto cut-off, not having to worry re trickle charger, never being dead when its time for racing, the quick service worth about half the price to me over 5 years (the auto cutoff circuit switch costs them $100 they say)

No affil but Tony @ VPH does group buys for RL with a 10-15% disc if I remember correctly

ps - you should compare on a like for like basis re amp hours and cranking amps
VPH750 - 25 aH & 700 CA .... $800
BT360 - 21-24 ah & 360 CA ... $230

will check out Jacks (usually very helpful) thread and see - maybe w/o aircon, radio etc.. 360 is enough
hopefully someone spark-educated will weigh in re the issues

I feel it's more your alternator that is going to power those than the battery when the car is running. Battery is just storing the energy.

I'm going to need a battery eventually. Those Life P04 interest me. How are you connecting them to your battery wires? Is there an adapter?

Looks like Jack has had some success with his new Battery Tender.

From his article on W9O: http://www.number27.net/Number-27---Part-III.php

I’d been wanting a lithium battery conversion for a while but always baulked at the £600+ cost of sourcing a specific track day battery in the UK, so when Gary from the W90 came up with an option from the US at a more reasonable £240 I jumped in. The Deltran Lithium 35 Amp battery is officially designed for quads and motorbikes but in theory packs as much punch as my existing Bosch so I figured it would be ok. I ordered one on eBay and set about making a bracket and wiring so it would fit in #27.

Tiny Lithium battery weighs in at less than 1kg!

The Deltran is tiny and weighs around 1Kg, leaving a saving of around 17Kgs from the standard battery. So far so good, the new battery has no problem spinning over the engine and all seems ok, however I’m not sure how well the 964’s charging system will work with this type of battery, so it will be interesting to see how it fares.

Looks good to me. May go this route eventually.

Honestly, why are we still using lead / acid batteries at this point?

Nice, I"m gonna get one.

Did anyone find an easy way to switch the cable connections to the motorcycle screw on type?

Is there any safety issue using a lithium battery in a car?

These things are not supposed to be banged around. Thoughts?

Ok - i took the leap and installed a Lith Battery. Rewired some of the connections. I installed a separate small fuse box for the 3 larger red wires that make up one of the main cables going to the positive terminal on the battery. These go to the main fuse box while the other larger wire to the battery goes to the starter. Also ran another wire system for my light relays and my electrical power steering motor.
I must say that when the lith battery arrived and I opened it I thought I had received a plastic floor display model- it was so light. Made a mount system for it and wired all up- then took off for VIR. Temps in at night got down into the mid 20's so I was concerned but did not need to be as the car cranked each day with no issues at all. I am running a smaller crank pulled and know that I need to keep the rev's up to charge that battery , so the set-up I have is or would not be good for a daily driver in stop and go traffic unless you had a stock pulley configuration.
