Florida Owners!, C2 or C4 in the rain!
Hey everyone,
I am getting closer and closer to finally getting my 964!
I will be driving the car as my DD and I have a significant commute, about 40 mi each way each day. Should I consider a C4 for better traction in the rain?
I pours ALL THE DAMN TIME IN FL but I figured i'd ask, although I am sure there are tons of people driving C2s with the rain.

I drove my C2 up to Amelia Island two nights ago in heavy rain and never had an issue. Just make sure you have a good set of tires on with good wet traction ratings.

I've had my C2 for 17 years now, in both Northern California and now in Texas and I have never had an issue with wet weather traction...as mentioned, a good set of tires is important.

I recently purchased a 964. Not a daily but have driven it in the rain and not an issue. I'd be more concerned about making sure the ac is working flawlessly. I had ac totally redone and it blows ice cold. However, unless I keep the car running about 5 minutes before I set out in it I'll need a change of shirt when get to the office. Old school leather not very breathable. Let he car get cold and you are good to go. Kick *** car. Enjoy!

Where in Florida? I drive my C2 in rain only when i get caught out in it but havent had any problems at all even on older (harder) tires with good tread left.

Obviously all wheel drive will offer better traction in slippery conditions. But, really depends on how you drive and as others mentioned the quality and type of tires.

We got it up here Pat. I took the cab out for a ride this morning and while sitting at a light it starts dumping rain with the sun out bright and shiny! By the time I could get out and undo the cab top cover it stopped. What the hell are you doing slumming down her in the 964 area

Bought my '91 C2 new in NJ. Moved to Central Florida 9 years ago. Have run assorted high performance tires over the years. Currently running on Sumi HTR-Z-3s. I have never had a traction problem in NJ drizzle on oily roads, or under torrents in Florida. Just make sure you have plenty of tread.
