Default Hot start problem

I'm having a issue with hot starting, the car starts first turn when cold or warm but if it's been on a good run and I switch it off and try and restart I can't take 5-10 seconds of cranking to start, once it does start is revs at around 1800rpm for about a minute or so then returns to normal. It doesn't happen all the time and is more Likley to happen if it has been standing for a couple of minutes eg fuel station.
Any ideas?

I do not have the answer, but am dealing with a similar issue. If you search here, you will find relevant threads, additionally, if not already in your possession, would suggest getting some related reading material such as Adrian Streather's book . If the check engine light is not on, it may simply be a case of a bad DME relay. GL

Could be a few things.

Do you have a RS single pulley? On the street that can make your battery run down and the car doesn't like to start on a low battery.

Also could be your fuel pressure regulator.

Ok, today I have tried disconnecting the engine temp sensor once the car is warm, so far it hasn't had the issue. I will try it again tomorrow with it disconnected and see how it goes.
I have been searching for the correct resistance of the sensor but have come across a few but all different!

Mine was not restarting if it was hot but I didn't have th 1800rpm issue. For mine I replaced the starter, fixed it.

Ok ran it a lot today, had the sensor plugged in to start and warm up then disconnected it.
No hot start problems at all.
Will change the sensor next week.

Oh, yeah. That’s a common problem.
