Default Forged Design 90s

i just went and picked up the original wheels for my 89 C4.

I read somewhere that the 89s had forged D90 wheels. Can any one verify this?

Is there a way to tell? They feel lighter than my Cup1s. Could just be in my head.

The Clubsport is forged, it doesn't have a "lip" like the D90...

Ahhh!

So these ones a the D90s, not the clubsports.

Default Forged Design 90s

There is an article on the 89 that is widely used and quoted. I don't have the link offhand, but it says the 89 uses a forged d90 wheel and then changed later...and the picture they use makes the d90's look a bit like club sports.

I search every last place I could find and never found another version of the d90. They are not forged and as far as I could find there is no forged version.

You can however fit forged clubsports to the 964 with spacers. There is a pic somewhere in project shrek... They look good. But spacers are kind of a pain. So I don't go there...

Interesting. Custom?

They look pretty good. Can't wait until I'm in the market for wheels.

/\ Those were made by Dage back in the day for the aftermarket.

I do love the Porsche 944 "silver rose" forged wheels. Anyone have a photo of a set fitted to a 964?

Chris
