Default Fabspeed Exhaust

I was wondering if anyone has this exhaust installed. What I'm interested is is the package below, European cat and single outlet muffler. No chip, already have the airbox. What are your opinions about sound? Do you have a recording? Thinking their claim of 35 RWP increase, may be exaggerated.

I have the setup you describe. Sport cat, single outlet muffler. I also have the cup airbox and DME chip.

I find this exhaust setup very pleasing. It sounds great, does not drone, not too loud.

It is expensive for what it is.

On my other car I have experimented with the primary muffler delete (cup pipe) and the secondary muffler delete (G-pipe) and have run the each alone and simultaneously (loud). I find the G-pipe to produce a nice effect in conjunction with the stock muffler, and for $120 I think it is a pretty cheap mod that cuts weight and gives a more aggressive sound.

I have their headers and dual outlet catleas exhaust. Depending on how far down cape you are, I'd be happy to meet up so you could hear it. The setup you describe would be more quiet for sure. As for their hp claims.. I'm gonna call BS on it. Sure does sound good though

I have the Fabspeed RSR system. Not too loud but sounds mean once you jump on it. Bit of drone at highway speeds/rpm but not too bad. Single outlet would have less drone.

very optimistic

While not a direct comparison I just changed the exhaust on my Golf GTI from standard to Milltek 3" turbo back with before and after dyno runs. It gained 7hp at the wheels with exhaust alone and 55hp once it was tuned. Turbo cars are easry though - just turn up the boost, advance the timing and lean it out a bit.

I think that the 35hp gain claim, is attributed to a combination package where the DME chip, exhaust, and cup airbox cover are sold all together. Frankly, that is the ONLY way it MIGHT be possible.

except that it says, "Increases horsepower and torque by 35 whp and 34 ft-lbs without use of DME, expect a greater increase with addition of DME Chip."

I did get the fabspeed exhaust installed. I haven't put the car on a dyno but I can tell you that the unit is lighter and has a better sound that the stock equipment.

35 HP seems like a lot given that it's a cat back unit but I am no expert.

Do you guys know if it would pass the sound test at some restrictive tracks?
In Tremblant for example it's 102db

skip the airbox, source yourself a cat and secondary bypass, then call wong for a chip.

you'll save yourself over $1000 and be just as happy.

I have the same set up along with a wong chip. Drone is quite bad at 2-3k rpm, but don't matter because its a weekend car. The sound is pleasing, but not loud.

Power gain was obvious, put a big smile on my face when I first got back the car.

The power gain is from removing the cat, not the Fabspeed exhaust. If you want to pay $2600 for no power gain and an unbearable drone at cruising speed, that's your choice, but as said above, a way better solution is cat bypass and a primary or secondary muffler bypass, which can be done for around $500.
