I'm back... (third time's a charm!)
Well, it's been a while. Back in the day I owned a 1991 Carrera 4, which met an untimely demise at Lime Rock. Followed that with a supercharged 1993 RS America. That car is now in Germany, disguised as a long hood. Don't ask...
When this thing popped up recently I couldn't say no. I've always wanted to own a white car and now I have it...
A one owner 1990 Carrera 2 from California with every receipt imaginable. It's higher mileage, but well taken care of. Grand Prix white w. black interior. Exactly the color combo I was looking for. Stock other than:
- 6K miles on a complete engine rebuild w. 3.8L P&C from Mahle Motorsport
- Transmission was rebuilt at the same time + new clutch/LWFW
- Bilstein HD w. OEM springs (can't you tell?)
- 993 rear calipers
Plans? I'm keeping it stock. LOL. I have a lot to remember and re-learn about 964s, since it's been 6 years since I've owned one.
But I do have a basic plan. I have a set of OEM 964 Speedster seats (yes, the Recaro shells in black leather and 3-tone gray leather inserts) that are already painted white. And a set of H4s en route. I'll need to upgrade the front brakes, suspension (minimum H&R reds to start with to go along with the Bilsteins), and I need to find a set of Cup I wheels. The rest will follow.
I'm taking a very slow approach to this project since the car is going to stay in CA with a dear friend until the Fall. Which will give me time to acquire the stash of parts that I'll need. I'm not a very patient person so this "very slow approach" is uncharted territory for me...
Anyway, I have a photo of the car of course since it's mandatory, and here it is:

About time LOL
Can't wait to see it. I have those big blacks just waiting even a set of aluminum hats and front slotted rotors. What wheels are you going to upgrade to. Need some 18" Fikse's
All the best with it.
BTW someone was selling 993 carriers if you decide to go that route. Might start picking up parts now the fall will be here before you know it.

It will be fun to how much you use the 964 vs. GT3, my dream combo.
Did you beat Mooty to this one? Great to have you back!
