Three Wheelin'
I think 50k may be too much.. I do also agree that on the 993 forum they would've eaten this one up.
I have a 91 C4 Cabrio with 95k on the clock. I'm the 4th owner and asking 35k. Many calls but no buyer yet. I do realize it is a convertible so handling is different and it's heavier. It's also a C4 which adds weight as well but 10-15k less for that with almost twice the mileage seems like a fair price. Am I missing something with the C2's Coupe's bringing that much more? What were the build numbers like to offset this much? If the OP can get 50k I would say jump on it. I would price it somewhere around 43-47k based on what I've seen, but who knows.. it's worth what someone will pay.
Best of luck with the sale!

If you can keep it, don't sell. Mitigate the miles for another year or so and we will be 60-70k for the same car, and that will likely be the top for a while. Money aside, you'll miss it and that extra year will give you a chance to come to your senses and sell something else...lol

I don't think its a huge difference but when I was looking I wanted a 92 or later. 89-90 had no head gasket and tend to leak a lot more. Some were fixed by the dealer back then but many were not. In 91 they also switched to better all steal head studs. 89-91 also used Freudenberg dual mas fly wheel which were un-reliable; in 92 they switched to LUK units. The flywheel is no big deal and an easy fix at some point but the no head gasket was deal breaker for when I started to look Took a long freakn time. I do believe some of this will play into values. It seems coupes are all the rage right now. Although I know someone who paid 80k for a 84 wide body cab just last week! So who the hell knows. But I do agree a low mileage c2 coupe with good records and no issues and no more than 4 owners should fetch north of 50 if you one is patient.

Get a '94 if you want all the updates, but to others: quit worrying about the year, go in condition.

Agreed on not to pass on a 964 simply because of the year; its just one item to consider. If the car was great in all other aspects then I'd jump all over it. All things being equal except year, I'd take the later year. But thats just me a newbie in the air cooled world.

After hours of consideration......my 964 will be on the market in a week or so.
50,500 miles, not even 52k!
Again, thanks everyone for your help and comments. I really appreciate it.
Good god I hope I don't regret this too much!
